Union City, Pennsylvania 2004 Spring Tea Party

May 1, 2004

The theme for our second annual Spring Tea was “Wedding Gowns through the Years”.

Old photos and wedding gowns were on display as soon as you entered the room.  The gowns were on loan from the Union City Historical Society and local residents.  It was a wonderful to hear all the stories of love, life and many times sacrifice just for that special someone.

The gowns that were used during the fashion show were a blend of current fashion and gowns from a few local residents.  Each dress came with a story and a description.  An example of that was the dress worn by Thelma Morgan on her wedding day.  Thelma’s dress was Western style right down to the boots and hat.  The most unique touch was in her bouquet, it had deer antlers incorporated in it.  For those of you unfamiliar with the Morgans, they own a deer farm.  The current fashions were provided by The Bride’s Palace.

The attendance this year was again around 120.  Everyone was able to view the banners that were purchased with the funds from last years Tea Party.  The banners were hung along Main Street later that month.
