Clean and Green Project

The Union City Healthy Youth are working on a Clean and Green Project whereby the students want to help local business owners on Main Street to “Clean Up” their business area.  Students are willing to paint, wash windows, mow lawns, pick up garbage, and sweep up sidewalks and parking areas.  Businesses that would like the extra help, are asked to contact Abbe Biebel at the Chamber or Tammy Stec at tstec@ucasd.iu5.org.  Businesses are asked to be specific as to what they would like done so we may be prepared and so things will run smoothly. 

The students have set a date of Saturday, September 9, 2006, starting at 9:00 a.m. to begin the clean up.  Students are also looking for adult volunteers to help with the event.  Anyone willing to help is asked to contact Abbe or Tammy. 

The focus of Healthy Youth is to bring the community, school, and students together and to help promote the 40 Developmental Assets (www.ucasd.org).  This is just one of the ways that our students are willing to give back to their community.
